The Salvation Army Teams up with the Golden State Warriors To Launch 126th Annual Red Kettle Campaign

Nov 8, 2016 | by Sally Robb Haims

What: The Salvation Army and the Golden State Warriors team up for a fun-filled Bay Area Red Kettle Kickoff on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. when the Warriors take on the Dallas Mavericks.

Only the fourth home game and the eighth overall game of the season, the exciting evening is a rare opportunity to see the new-look 2016-17 Warriors team, while also raising funds to support Bay Area programs and services helping local men, women, and children in need.

Dedicated to improving the quality of life for those who are underserved in our Bay Area community, the Golden State Warriors will celebrate the team’s community partner The Salvation Army through a number of pre-game and in-game activities including the courtside shootaround, Anthem Buddies, and High Five Fan Tunnel. More than 40 lucky youth will watch the Warriors’ shootaround and high-five players as they head back onto the court following halftime.

“We look forward to developing a strong relationship with the Warriors who share the Army’s mission of helping those in need in our Bay Area community,” said Lieutenant Colonels Cindy and Tim Foley, Divisional Leaders of The Salvation Army Golden State Division.

“As East Bay neighbors, we’re thrilled to be teaming up with the Warriors and appreciate their support this holiday season,” said Majors James and Beverley Lloyd, Alameda County Coordinators of The Salvation Army.
